I was licensed by the State of North Carolina in both Health and Life Insurance products and services in 2011, soon followed by my appointment with The Mair Agency in 2012 representing Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina products and services. I love working in this field as it affords me opportunities to help people in need, hence making a small improvement in their health and lifestyle.

Prior to this move I held numerous high-profile sales engineering positions during a 30-year career Nortel Networks giving me thorough understanding of telephone and Internet networks and defined my drive and work ethic.

In my free time, I remain busy via raised-bed gardening, thirteen 8×4 beds in total, composting and worm farming facilitating the growth of nutrient rich soil complimenting my garden, ancestry research allowing travels to county courthouses for vital record retrieval and family cemeteries, car detailing, gym workouts near daily.  I also home twenty-seven free range chickens and two four-legged rescue companions.  I’ve been married to my lovely wife for thirty-five years whom afforded me three wonderful sons, all remain local.  My newest interest is being the best grandfather to my recently gifted grandson.

When engaged with new and existing clients, I emphasize down home trustful openness relationship between client and agent.  I practice full disclosure of products, services and regulations as the health care industry and plan shopping is complex and confusing to first time buyers.  To avoid over and under buying, I’ll inquire to your current and projected healthcare needs, review pros and cons of various plans, and recommend a plan that meets your desires and budget.   Often, new clients inquire about the interdependent relationships between monthly premiums and incomes, and year-end tax preparation.

Agents provide clients terminology distinction like copays, deductibles, co-insurance, annual maximums, in-network vs out-of-network services and providers.  Agents eliminate the guess work and confusion concerning bronze, silver and gold plans and differences between various Blue Cross plans such as Blue Local vs Blue Value vs Blue Advantage. And exactly what is the marketplace and the benefits of shopping using an agent versus buying directly from the marketplace without complimentary agent services. There are many advantages using licensed professional agents.

Agents provide the needed knowledge to remain current in the ever-changing healthcare sector, allowing clients and families to remain focus on their core day to day necessities such as their families and households, their occupations and other distractions. This complimentary expertise service provided by The Mair Agency gives clients year-round peace of mind and support.  I/We serve you by being the eyes and ears to you and your families health care needs.
